Prequel to Victorious Star. The story is shorter and less... rich? than the others in the series -- especially given how rushed Seht's and Aubrey's declarations of love seemed -- but it was still very enjoyable watching Aubrey Ravnos grow from a young man to an adult, especially as his relationship with Seht changed over time. It's dark, but not as much as I had feared it would be-- actually, in some places it was quite light and humorous. I think you would get more from this if you've read the others in the series, but it's certainly not necessary. Now that the prequel is out of the way, I would love to see a sequel featuring Seht, Aubrey and Victoria.

Excellent story and the beginning of what hopefully is an excellent series. Ravnos is out for vengeance on the entire Moribund Company and Seht is out after Ravnos who as once his unwilling slave. The two strong men meet in the capitol city of the Republic of Caribbean Stars which is Ravnos's home base. Ravnos is no longer the weak, ill young man he was when he was held by Seht. A physical power play for domination, both physical and sexual, soon breaks out between Ravnos and Seht with the winner taking all.
A tight, intriguing story that reads smoothly. I couldn't help but love the two men and their shared quest. Highly recommended.
This was a good prequel, but the ending is abrupt if you have not read book one. You do not need to read [b:Victorious Star|237020|Victorious Star (Interstellar Service & Discipline, #1)|Morgan Hawke|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1215464205s/237020.jpg|229577] before reading this book, but be ready to read Victorious Star.

It is great story between two very alpha males.
Doubled dicked pron, you know you want to read this one!
