Description

Tough. Taciturn. And a fool for letting her go...

A Wild Ride story.

Wyoming rancher Quinn McKay thought he'd only have to bide time until his

levelheaded wife came to her senses and called a halt to this "trial

separation". He never believed the marital rough patch would drag on for a coon's age.

Libby McKay knew when she married the gruff, laid-back cowboy that he wasn't prone to blathering about his feelings. But three months have passed and her stubborn-as-a-mule husband is still living show more by himself in the horse trailer. It seems he'd rather hold onto his pride than hold onto her.

Quinn realizes Libby is determined to move on if he doesn't loosen his tongue and he'll lose the only woman he's ever loved. In a last-ditch effort to keep her in his life, he offers her one weekend of uninterrupted sexual decadence.

Reigniting the passion is easy. The hard part comes after the sheets have cooled and they find out if what remains is strong enough to survive past mistakes.

I think this is a great short story mainly because you have already seen glimpses of these characters in the earlier books. You already know that the couple is having problems and have probably wondered what is happening with them. I think that this story will probably strike and cord with a lot of married couples. I really loved the way Ms. James worked out the problems that Quinn and Libby were facing. While this is a short story I didn't feel short changed at all. I loved this story as much as I have the others. I would definitely recommend this story to any that wanted a quick read and had all ready read the previous books.

This is probably one of the best short stories I have ever read. Why is that the show more case you might ask, especially if you have read my reviews of other novellas? Because if you have read the earlier books you know these two people and that they are having problems with their marriage. Since these two have been married for a while longer than any of the other McKay cousins it is nice to see that this family doesn't have one perfect marriage after another. It is also nice to see that a man can admit that he might have to change a little to keep his wife. The problems Quinn and Libby have are the same that a lot of couples have when life and disappointment take a toll on a relationship. I was glad to see that Libby was finally able to see that the problems they were having were as much her fault as Quinn’s.

It says a lot about Quinn and how he feels about Libby that he is willing to accept advice from his brother Ben. He wastes no time making changes that grab Libby’s attention. Quinn pulls out all the stops and shows his dominant, playful side which is what Libby has wanted for the beginning. It is sad that she never told Quinn before they separated that she didn't want him holding back. There are times that things get a little heated with anger and recriminations but Quinn works through them quickly and with a single minded determination. I was proud of him for standing up to his Mom and Dad when they tried to stick their noses into the couple’s problems.

I was more than a little upset with Libby because she was determined to blame Quinn for all the things that were wrong with their marriage. It is sad that it takes her sister to point out one of the problems before Libby will acknowledge that she is as much to blame as Quinn. The scene with them learning to give a sensual massage was humorous and as hot a fire. It is also the turning point for both these characters to start really talking and mending fences.

There are some really steamy sex scenes in this story. These two are fulfilling fantasies fast than a pair of rabbits. Both of them are creative and not afraid to try what they have only ever dreamed of happening. There are several scenes of public sex and one where they get caught like a pair of teenagers. There is also one hot scene of anal sex. The story does have a very happy ending that I can’t reveal but you will be cheering when you find out what it is.

I can see why this author is known for her Western romance. I had no idea that there would be so much steam and still give a good storyline.

My complaint comes from how fast the story ended. I wanted more of a conclusion. Still, it was N entertaining book.
Loved it! Quinn and Libby have been married a long time and are having troubles. Quinn gets his wake up call when Libby calls for a trial separation and works overtime to get her back in very HOT, STEAMY ways. Wonderful story.
This was a great short story. I loved that Lorelei James brought their story to life. I was a great fan of the stories surrounding the McKays.

It shows how after some time, couples can get complacent and although the love doesn't die, the affection and intimacy can decrease. Libby and Quinn were able to get it back and it was wonderful!

Thank you Lorelei James!
Bit different as the couple are already married, but have grown apart and are not communicating.
Not my favorite of the series but still had some hot and steamy parts.
I liked this book because it's about a couple that has been married for 9 years together for like 15 years. They were each others first and only. They separate for 3 months .......read more on my blog iloveladyporn.com
