Description

Halifax had been in French Africa for five years, doing whatever foolhardy, dangerous thing Serailler ordered him to do. It was some time before he finally snapped, but when he did, he opened the throttle, eased back the stick, and lifted straight and high into a dream.

Yes, I bought this book on it's cover. Africa in the title, and a plane. Good choice. An American who flew for France in WWI is sentenced to the French Foriegn Legion in North Africa. But it only starts there. Good flying bits but alot of working through personal demons (my current fave....) and even a transatlantic flight. Ambigous alot of the time but that is what makes it work.
Beautiful title, but not a memorable story for me.
A great adventure story.
