David Clewell is the author of a dozen books of poetry, including Taken Somehow by Surprise, The Low End of Higher Things, and Now We're Getting Somewhere. He is a former poet laureate of Missouri and has also worked as a wrestler, circus laborer, and boardwalk weight-guesser.
