Polly Curren was born on October 2, 1917. After graduating high school, she attended the Russell School of Expression and Literature. She and her sister Josette opened the School of Expression for Children in their parents' home and taught children artistic expression and performance. In the late 1940s, her hearing started to deteriorate and she show more eventually became deaf. This is when she decided to become a writer. Her first book, The Little Red Caboose That Ran Away, was published in 1950. Her other works include Hear Ye of Boston, To Light a Torch, and The Fantastic Adventures of Wesley Riggs. She was also one of the ghost writers for the Trixie Belden series written under the pseudonym Kathryn Kenny. She died on November 7, 2011 at the age of 94. (Bowker Author Biography) show less
