* In "Dr. Love" by Donna Hill, Trisha Spencer, President & CEO of an advertising company, meets her Mr. Right, Dr. Michael Evans, when she ends up in the hospital after collapsing at a staff meeting. Can a doctor fall in love with a woman who hasn't been taking care of her health, especially when her gorgeous, thinner, sister makes a play for him as well?
* "The Perfect Seduction" by Brenda Jackson is connected to her story in last year's book, this time pairing high school sweethearts Megan James and Tyler Savoy. Since then, Megan has become a college professor, and Tyler a veterinarian. Their lives have changed, but Megan's been unable to move on with her love life since their breakup. So she decides if she loses her virginity with Tyler, she'll have closure and be able to move on.
* "Through the Fire" by Monica Jackson is also connected to her story in last year's book. This one has pampered, high-maintenance Cherise Givens completely out of her element: she's stranded in the wilderness with ex-SEAL, now artist Shepard Fraser.
* Renovation designer Neal Dunbar's house in "His Everything Woman" by Francis Ray is empty, from the walls to the refrigerator to the yard, but he doesn't have time to do anything about it. Then he sees Domestic Diva Cara Scott on a T.V. talk show, who describes herself as a "hired wife." Her claim that she never gets involved with her clients, and his vow to avoid marriage only make fate laugh.
This is a fun, light, romantic read, released at the perfect time, too--January, when everyone's just made New Year's resolutions about losing weight, and feeling obsessed about size, here's a book that points out you don't have to be thin to find love. I hope the authors continue with this series of anthologies for many years to come. ( )
