Foreword.
This book is primarily about myself and the work I was engaged in, during a lifetime with the Welsh Plant Breeding Station of the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth.

One day during August 1922, in Prof. Stapledon's private room at the Agricultural Building, Alexandra Road, Aberystwyth, which at the time was the Headquarters of all Agricultural Departments, viz. (show all)ry, Botany, and also the Welsh Plant Breeding Station, two people were talking namely, Prof. Stapledon (Director W.P.B.S.) and my father, Mr. Lewis Jones, who was at the time the Head Porter of the building.
