"A New History of Korea" only covers Korean history through the April,1960 Revolution. Although Korea's history is long and vast prior to 1960, a history of Korea missing the last 50 years relegates this book to an ancient Korean history reference ONLY. We already have books in our library that are more comprehensive and less dull than this one (encompassing the ancient and the modern histories of Korea), so I don't recommend this unless you are trying to fill out a bibliography. Nothing bad about this, just dull and dated.
Understandably so, but somewhat biased history (anti-Japan) of the modern period. Detailed timeline of kings and dynasties is useful.
