We get to see the lighthouse actually serve its function as a dense fog rolls in, which is nice, but the low-key rescue mission that drives the rest of the book is decidedly humdrum.
Poor lost Aurora! While viewing the Northern Lights, Aurora, the sea turtle, becomes lost and drifts onto the shoreline and hides in his shell near the Lighthouse. Lila and Whistler, the two mice children that live in the Lighthouse find Aurora. With the help of their parents, Seabold the dog and Pandora the cat, the lighthouse children devise a plan to safely return Aurora to the sea. As I read this book, I felt like I was tucked between the Lighthouse and the sea… right with characters: Aurora, Lila, Whistler, Seabold and Pandora! Enjoy reading this book!
Once again Cynthia Rylant has added another book to the Lighthouse Family. The continueing tale of a wonderfully blended little family of animals that live in a light house. I really enjoy the illustrations.
My favorite early chapter series
A continuation of the series with the same familiar characters.
