I particularly liked this book because it did a wonderful job of touching on the tension between the Natives and the English from before the Pilgrims ever even arrived. This is a very real part of history and an important piece of the puzzle that is often overlooked.
The story of the Pilgrims is vividly retold in simple language for beginning readers.
This book is historical fiction and it is a great way to teach about the history behind Thanksgiving. The story takes place in England, where the Pilgrims left from and took the Mayflower to America. The characters are the Pilgrims and the Indians.
