Akira Toriyama is a Manga artist and video game designer and writer, born in 1955, and based in Japan. He became popular in 1980 with his work Dr. Slump. From 1984-1995, his series Dragon Ball ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. It became popular in the U.S. published as Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. He designed video games which show more include Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, Tobal No. 1, and Blue Dragon.
