A Chinese youth in London takes in a brutalized girl who collapses in his hop after having been beaten by her father, and shows her the only kindness she has ever known. When she is killed by her enraged father, the Chinese kills the man and then takes his own life.

An abused girl is shown kindness by an immigrant.

Gish's performance is heartbreaking. It might have been a great movie, if it weren't for the racism. (Ironically, it's intended to have an anti-racist message, despite the "Yellow Man" being played as a caricature.)
