abarca de 800 a 200 a.С. y que Jaspers llarnó la "Edad Axial",
aquella en que vivieron los filósofos griegos e indios, los profetas
hebreos y Zaratustra, época en que surgieron los pensamientos
básicos de los que se han nutrido desde entonces las
civilizaciones del Viejo Mundo. Esta obra es una historia general
de la filosofia china en la época clásica (500-200 a.C.); recorre
todo el espectro que va del racionalismo de los moístas tardíos al antiracionalismo de Zhuangzi, centrándose en el pensamiento de las
figuras más sobresalientes y en sus modos de pensar, con un
especial énfasis en los debates show more surgidos entre escuelas rivales.
