"If distinct personalities who cohabitate, converse, challenge, and care deep-down for one another can be considered a family, then the three main characters of the hit comic strip "Get Fuzzy" definitely qualify. The self-proclaimed leader of the clan is Bucky, the shameless Siamese cat who rules with one fang and an iron claw. Further down the pecking order is the sweet but slow-on-the-uptake Satchel, a Lab-Shar-Pei mix who remains ever innocent despite often being the brunt of Bucky's tirades. Finally, there's Rob, the sole human in the group, who even with his opposable thumbs and presumably bigger brain can never quite keep the other two under control. Family or not, the three entertain readers in 300 daily newspapers. The strip's first cartoon collection has sold more than 100,000 copies, and the second is poised to match or exceed that. Despite the three characters being of different species, fans seem to have no problem welcoming them into their own "family."
