Suzanne Winckler is a freelance writer living in Mesa, Arizona. From 1992 to 2002, she worked for The Nature Conservancy's Nebraska Chapter, where she was involved in raising funds for prairie conservation and restoration projects. She is the co-editor of The Bird Life of Texas, editor of Great Texas Birds, and author of two Smithsonian Guides to show more Historic America and one Smithsonian Guide to Natural America.
