This story is illustrated by photographs of a real apple orchard as it takes readers on a journey of a full year living on the orchard. Highland Orchards is run by a small family and each member takes a part in the upkeep of the orchard. The book explains the importance of trimming trees so that the apples grow the right way, when to pick the apples, different uses for the apples, and plenty more steps in running an apple orchard throughout all seasons. This book could be read before an actual fieldtrip to an apple orchard or while talking about various kinds of trees.
