I can't give it five stars because it's not #OwnVoices. But it doesn't feel like appropriation, and it's a gorgeous story, Parnall's art perfect, respectful... and highly recommended. I read/view everything I can by Parnall, and have kept exploring Hodges since her collaboration with Trina Hyman on the St. George story that was an award winner. This is definitely in the same class as that adaptation and should be as widely avl. and read. Find it on openlibrary.org, read it, and spread the word: https://openlibrary.org/books/OL5709306M/The_fire_bringer
