As Zack Johnson's fiance notes, it's the "same old, same old," as the world's last private investigator is roped into sorting out a murder in a matriarchal culture that isn't as perfect as its leadership would like to think; besides the small matter of saving the world. On the plus side, our hero is put in a position where it's more about the detection then the action. On the other hand, the series is getting long enough in the tooth that the whole enterprise is getting kind of tired. Zakour does continue to flirt with that element that probably should bring the series to an end; the separation of Johnson and his cybernetic assistant HARV.
