Lola's best friend Lotta has a beautiful, new, fluffy, white coat and Lola is dying to borrow it! In this book about frienship and honesty, both Lola and Lotta learn a lesson about sharing. I love the digital collage illlustrations, expecially with the textured details of the fluffy white coat. I also like the positive sibling relationship featured between Lola and her brother Charlie. The British expressions ("shopping trolley") are fun too!
This is a cute story about the journey Lola took when her best friend Lotta let her borrow her new fluffy coat. She tries her best to keep it looking like new, but leaves it at the library and someone takes it. Lotta is upset but the girls find the coat eventually.
A story of friendship and trust unfolds as Charlie narrates as his little sister, Lola, borrows her friend's winter coat. The book has an engaging plot and bolds text and vocabulary that may be new or more difficult words for the reader.
Girl friends switch possessions, a purse for a coat, and borrowing a beautiful coat involves responsibilities & problems.

Lauren Child (born in 1965 in England) is an English author and illustrator. She is best known for writing the Charlie and Lola books and Clarice Bean novels. Her second book in this series, Clarice Bean Spells Trouble, was shortlisted for the 2005 British Book Awards Children's Book of the Year. A number of spin off books are available based on show more the scripts of the TV shows, though these were not written or illustrated by Child. Charlie and Lola has been sold throughout the world, and has won many prizes, including BAFTAs in 2007 for Best children's Television Show and Best Script. She writes the Ruby Redfort series.
