Van Laan’s book about a young boy climbing up 5 different trees before finding the perfect one has fun rhymes, and unique photos. It worked well for storytime because of the repetition and the counting element. Most of the kids got into the swing and would say “uh oh! oh no!” with me or “I want that one” and point to an invisible tree in the room.

The story, A Tree In Me, is a repetitive book. Its about a boy looking for a tree for himself. Every tree the boy looks for is taken by animals. As the story goes on there counting down the animals. The boy eventually finds a tree of his own. This would be cute for a younger class because of the repetition and it would be easy to remember.
I think a little too long and repetitive for storytime. A boy is looking for a tree for him, does not matter what size or age, he just wants a tree to climb. It turns out all the trees are taken by other animals. The animals are the counting portion of the book. In the end he finds a tree with a tree house just for him.
This is a cute book about a guy who wants to hang out in a tree and encounters the animals that are living the trees and he goes to another tree and the same thing till he finds a tree for him.
A fun numbers book that takes place in the trees.
