I'm bemused. I just don't know what to think.
I'm not believing the drawings supposedly done by Fanny... but I could be wrong; maybe some children have that much talent. I do like the description of the writing process. I like the way Annabelle tried to find the owner of the lost item.
Overall, though, I dunno how to rate or whether to recommend... in one mood I'd love it, but in another I might feel scorn for it. You decide for yourself if you want.

*These are my thoughts on an ARC version.*
Does it make me silly if a children's book brings a slight twinge of tears to my eyes? That is just how sweet this little story is. Holly Hobbie always provides entertainment with her stories. Within this story our main character Fanny is writing a story about her doll Annabelle. Through out the narrative we have morals and educational value as well as great pictures. I think that this would be a great book to help influence a little girl just like Fanny to write a starting novel of her own with illustrations included.
I love this little book from Holly Hobbie as well as anything else I have read by her so far and will definitely look for her books in the future as my daughter grows.
