Description
An inspiring collection of thoughts to take with us on the paths we travel in life. For all the roads we choose to travel, and even those we don't, Fred Rogers has an observation, a story, some insights to share. Whether you're facing graduation, a new job, a new baby, marriage, any change in your life-expected or not-the wisdom that Mister Rogers offers can contribute mightily to the grace with which you handle the change. With sections titled Who You Are Right Now, Loving and Being Loved, show more and Guided Drift, Fred addresses the scope of human transitions. It all comes down to knowing we're valuable, and that we're worthy of that value. As Fred would say, "You don't have to be anything more than who you are right now." In her foreword, Joanne Rogers shares the Fred she knew. With stories from their life together, the joys as well as the struggles, Joanne shows how Fred looked at life as a journey-with the ups and downs and in-betweens. show lessTags

How can you go wrong with Mr. Rogers? I am not ashamed to say I have been a fan of Fred Rogers since day one. I believe that he was a remarkable man and that he profoundly touched the lives of millions of children, of which I am one. The book is a collection of some of his insights on the world and the people around us. I truly believe that he had a gift to see through the smoke and fog to get at the heart of the emotion. Like Charles Schultz and Bill Cosby, Fred Rogers had the gift, but unlike Charles and Bill who mostly spoke to adults about being a child, Fred spoke to children about being children. He used the wisdom learned from experience (just plan living life) to inform and to educate but mostly nurture the child. This book I show more believe is meant for us adults that need guidance but want it simple and easy to digest. And there is no better person to speak to our inner child than Mr. Rogers! show less
Life's Journeys According to Mister Rogers is a little gen of a book or what I would describe as a feel good book. The book was published after his death but it contains favorite thoughts, quotes and musings by this most well loved and respected man. The book is very short but if you truly believe in what you are reading it can provide some inspiration and self reflection. I liked the forward written by Fred's wife Joanne Rogers which is very eloquent in describing her husband and the impact he had on people and particular children. Fred Rogers was an exemplary human being and I'm sure he would be proud that his thoughts shared in print would have impact on so many. I would highly recommend reading this book as a simple way to feel show more better about yourself and the world we live in. show less
I really enjoyed this book. I think I may actually use some of this book for a paper I have to write for class. Fred Rogers has some great advice in this book and he isn't preachy at all about anything. This is a great little read and would make a good present for someone grad school.
A collection of short quotes by Mister Rogers about life, loving yourself, and going with the flow. There's a lot of great wisdom in here - it's worth reading each quote and thinking about it for a day or two.
i never watched mr. rogers. canada didn't have kid's tv when i was young, just rin tin tin, roy rogers, circus boy, maggie muggins--entertainment not trying to teach you anything except that boys had all the fun.
This is a book of quotes and thoughts from Mister Rogers that were collected along his journey of life. I can remember watching Mister Rogers as a young child and though I didn't know it at the time, some of the values he taught are with me today.
It was nice to reminisce with Mister Rogers, for old times sake.
One quote that I took away from this book, wasn't even a quote from Mister Rogers but actually from the Dalai Lama: "Someone else's action should not determine your response."
This book is filled with inspirational little tidbits and I am sure has a little something for everyone.
