I love young adult books, plus I'm always interested in finding a new series to recommend to the teenagers at my library.

This one is perfect. An easy read, but not simplistic. The characters are feasible and likable. The plot is plausible, fun, and gratifying.

I could barely wait for each new volume to arrive, but not in a bad way. In other words, each volume feels like a complete story. Unlike some series' these days, the volumes don't all end in cliffhangers that scream "The publisher wants to sell a lot of hardcovers next time."

Plus it's about dragons instead of vampires, and I've had requests for such (from my library patrons).
