An outstanding introduction to the sources of western civilization.Perry covers a huge slice of history from the earliest civilizations in Egypt and Mesopotamia, the influence of the Hebrews, the Hellenic Age and the rise and fall of the Roman Empire, the influence of Christianity, to the modern west.

Western civilization is ideal for those who want a brief overview of the sources and ideas that influenced the rise of our civilization and continue to do so to-day.The accompanying maps and illustrations add value to the work.Westbrook.
