I love this book from purple cover to purple cover. The illustrations are soft and sweet, and Wilson's text is pitch-perfect as a cat tries to get its recalcitrant teddy bear to go to bed already. The text has a steady rhythm and rhyme – quiet and smooth, just right for bedtime reading. Parents and kids will appreciate a nicely told and illustrated version of a familiar routine.
I love this book because it is such a great bed time story. Not only does it give the rules of bed time in a cute way, such as brush your teeth, drink some water, read a bed time story; but it gives great visuals for children. I love how the illustrator used a teddy bear in all these different imaginative places, such as an ocean. This book to me would be easy for a child to follow, and is amazing because it can read softly, and would help any child drift off into a world where sleepy head ventures in the book.
This book is a good example of a fantasy because it creates a believable world to the reader when in reality it is not. The bears are talking and acting like animals. The character of the little bear is round because the reader knows a lot about him and how he does not want to go to sleep but read another story or get more to drink. He is very stubborn. Age Appropriate: primary. Media: watercolor
cute book, I feel that many kids will relate to this book.
