Tabby is such a wonderful character. And it's so nice to see seniors as the protagonists in children's books.
Mr. Putter wants to paint his porch. He has a bucket of pink paint, a big brush, and some rags. And he has Tabby to keep him company. Everything is perfect, until a squirrel scampers onto the porch and catches Tabby's eye. . . .
One of many wonderful authors for children, Cynthia Rylant has written countless books. This series Mr. Putter and Tabby is about the adventures of Mr. Putter and his cat Tabby who always seems to get into everything, this time causing the porch to need to be repainted and repainted again. Children will love this book with laugh out loud humor.
Per booklist great way to introduce new readers to chapter-book format
