This modern fantasy gives a twist to the story of The Three Little Pigs. In this story, the Big Bad Wolf is sad because he does not have any friends. He then decides to be good. He tries to say hello to the ducks and Mother Duck tells all of her ducklings to go inside. Duck number 5 gets lost and the Big Bad Wolf decides to be nice and find Duck number 5 and give her to Mother Duck. Mother Duck is then thankful and gives the Big Bad Wolf a hug and tells him that he is still the Big Bad Wolf, but a good Big Bad Wolf.
I enjoyed this story. The story has an underlining theme which is just because a person has done bad deeds, it does not mean they will not change and do good deeds. This is a very good message for young children.
A great idea show more for this story is for the children to act as different characters. They would not have to follow the story line, but they should use the characteristics of the animals and see how they feel. We then would talk about it. Another idea would be to give the children candy and see who would give it back to me without hesitation just like the Big Bad Wolf gave back the duck. Then talk about how they felt and how the big bad wolf must have felt since no one believed them. I would then give the children the candy back when the discussion was finished. show less

I like this book for two reasons. First, I like the plot of the story. It is a continuation of The Three Little Pig’s character, Big Bad Wolf. It is a humorous spin off of The Three Little Pigs. The Big Bad Wolf is lonely and has no friends. He decides to be nice so that the other animals will be friends with him. He goes to the geese, chickens, and ducks, but they all reject his help. For example, the ducklings in the story chant, “Big Bad Wolf, stay away and DON’T come back another day!” It was interesting to read a story about the wolf and his perspectives. Second, I liked the message of the story. The big idea of this book is that people can change. This is shown when Big Bad Wolf tries to be good and useful and does noble show more deeds, but everyone still thinks he is the Big Bad Wolf. They find out that he is a good wolf when he returns the lost duckling to the Mrs. Duck instead of eating him. It teaches readers that even when you hear bad things about a person, it may not be true and to give others a chance. show less
This cleverly written children's tale is based on 'The Big, Bad Wolf' and the world's perception of him. He goes from place to place trying to show other animals that he really is indeed good. It is a sweet story that could be used as a base for talking about getting to know others before making unkind judgements about them.
This story is a good example of a fantasy because the characters have human like traits. The big bad wolf and all the animals he comes into contact with can talk and express their feelings.
Point of View: It is vital that this story is told in third person because it really shows not only how the wolf is feeling but also how the other animals feel toward him. The third person is limited because we are mainly in tune with how the wolf is feeling but that's okay because those are the feelings that are most necessary for the reader to know and be concerned with.
Art Media: Sponge paint, watercolor, acrylics.

this big bad wold is trying to redeem himself to the other woodland creatures. he is tired of being big and bad and alone. when he tries to convince his potential friends that aren't having it. when disaster strikes, he is able to show he has indeed changed and deserves their trust and friendship. this is an aborable book and a lesson on how people can change can be affiliated with this book.
