One week in paradise will make or break them...

It's not enough that Kelsey's husband left her for another woman. Oh, no. The "other woman" had to be her best friend Evan's fiancée. Not only has she lost her marriage, she fears losing Evan to the lingering awkwardness and humiliation that hangs between them.

Evan has no intention of letting that happen. He's got plans...namely, an extra plane ticket to Hawaii now his future wife is out of the picture. There's only one person he wants on the trip with him, the one who's always been there for him. The one he should never have let slip away into the arms of a traitorous friend who shattered her heart.

Kelsey is anticipating a week of fun in the sun with the man who's always treated her like a little sister. No one's more surprised when she discovers that Evan has seduction on his mindâ??and that she's more than ready for it.

Love is the most powerful healing force of all. But past demons have a way of ripping open old wounds, and threatening the survival of even the strongest friendship...… (more)

The only reason I could finish reading this novel is because it's generally well-written, but I wish it had gotten a better editor. It jerked me back and forth between good and flawed until I was unable to maintain any trust in the outcome. A huge factor is their avoidance of communication of long-held feelings. I hate this trope. Even though this book is free, I'd have avoided it had I realized this would drag on for most of the text. There IS a reason for her fear. (His is less compelling.) Her scene's very good. But I suffered to get there and I still resent it, and in fact further revelation tells me that were this real life, they're doomed to screw this up. I don't believe their HEA.

The sex scenes are overly long, every time, and don't need to be except for the first one when it's all new. Maybe, had the author reined it in a bit, we could've avoided the heroine's reference to her WOMB during one. (That's a medical emergency. Wombs are never involved in sex scenes. Never.)

This is supposedly a siblings series. I couldn't tell you how many there are after reading this, I only saw one other. (There are 5 books.) Thing is, about siblings, mine influenced how I deal with people the rest of my life. Evan is aggressively mean to his brother for not being like him, which is ugly. My mother would've nipped that in the bud early on.

I own book 2 because Brian looks way more interesting than Evan. Time will tell whether that conflict's as flat as the sib trope or if it's a clue. Wish me good luck. ( )

Good, but not quite as good as the other two in this series. Would have liked a little less rehashing of the same thing over and over and maybe a little more plot. ( )

Good friends to lovers story.

Evan is sexy, sweet and romantic and Kelsey is a good match for him. My one problem with her is that she needs more backbone.

There is the usual misunderstanding stemming from a lack of communication that often characterizes contemporary romance, but it didn't bother me as much as it usually does. ( )

Very steamy story about a couple who were friends first but they were rather insecure and should have had some honest communication in their relationship between all the sex. Too much of the story was told through their thoughts. Evan and Kelsey have both been betrayed and he asks her to join him on a trip to Hawaii.

Good story, not so good plot and a little predictable. The chemistry between the characters was very good and the scenes were very hot and tasteful. Good book. ( )
