The earliest recorded member of this family, Rowland Robinson (1654- 1716), was born at Long Bluff, Cumberland, England and died at Point Judeth, Pettaquamscutt River, Rhode Island. He was married at Rhode Island in 1676 to Mary Allen (1656-1706?). She was born at Barnstable, England and died at Kingston, Rhode Island?. She was the daughter of John Allen and Mary Bacon. Correspondence covers business and family matters throughout the Revolutionary War era and continued on to 1838.
