Series is strictly contemporary vampire. This entry read less like a cop show with vampires thrown in (what I thought the first one felt like). I enjoyed it but I hope the rest of the rest of the series finds some other plot arc than here's-a-newly-discovered-vampire and here's some of their memories and more flashbacks from current characters. Invested in the characters so far more than the story and there's much more to develop than just a bunch of episodes of repeating same find-new-vampire, share more memories soap opera style of thing for the sake of a series franchise so to speak.
Ok, I must say, this is one of the better of the series, even though I needed to slap the main character for being too naive and thinking the best of everyone in spite of being faced with the obvious. The villainess needed to die, the psychotic ho-bag.
I really enjoyed this latest book in Hendee's Vampire Memories series. Eleisha and Philip travel to Denver to investigate a new vampire - unfortunately for Eleisha, this new vampire isn't too keen on the idea of a happy vampire family. We get to know a little more about Philip's thought process, which I found pretty engaging. At the novel's end, Philip has become a little closer in the vampire family, and Rose seems to be fitting in. This latest book has made me eager for the next installment.
