I do believe that Patterson is the worst best-selling-author I have ever read. Not all of that is attributable to his "co-authors" because it applies to different works and series.
Trite, condescending, inconsistent, phony chatty persona for narrators in more than one series -- I would never give this to a young person to read because it would corrupt their appreciation of good writing.
(PS the Graphic novel is better because the style fits the substance better)

I've read the first two books in this series. The pace of this book was off. Usually I'm up all night, because I can't put a title by him down. Not so with this one. Given it is sci fi the time travel back to King Arthur and Merlin where just a little off throwing. I felt the book starting to drag half way through and had to force myself to finish. The others before in the series had me waiting for the next installment. This one left me wondering if maybe, Daniel X is going to die a quiet death from my reading list.
Daniel is a 15 year old alien from alpar nok and he fights crime. But not the crime were used to. He fights space crime by hunting down bad aliens using a top ten list. This list is digital and tells him who he should target next. This time he is going after a fire alien named phosiphorus beta. But they just call him beta. It will be a difficult task but Daniel and his friends will just have to play with fire.
While him and his friends are camping they hitch a rid from an old lady who turns out to be #19 on the list who almost kills them with her tentacles but Daniel goes through a loophole in time and ends up in the medieval ages. There he meets a wizard named Merlin. Then he turns into a sword which is Excalibur and lets Arthur his show more apprentice take it and slay a dragon. Then Daniel goes back and slays his dragon (beta). show less
This was a good book. I liked how he traveled in the past to learn how to defeat the fire alien, forgot his name. Also how the fire alien was defeated was actually pretty well written
This was really not that great - I was disappointed. I found it dragging and boring.
Daniel X: Demons and Druids is a good book if you like fantasy and the likes of that. The different types of enemies really fascinated me.
Just another Daniel X book. If you liked the first two, you'll like this one.
