Peter Magubane An internationally acclaimed photographer, whose distinguished career spans more than 45 years, Peter has been awarded numerous prestigious accolades for his courageous and outstanding contribution to the world of photography, including the Coretta Scott King Literary Award (1983); Robert Capa Award (1986); Dr Erich Salomon Prize show more (1986); NPPA Humanitarian Award (1987); Special Missouri Honor Medal for Distinguished Service in Journalism (1992); Images of Africa (1993); Pringle Award and Martin Luther King Luthuli Award (1995); Lifetime Achievement Award from Mother Jones Foundation and Leica Cameras, Achievement Award by MACUFE (Bloemfontein), Fellowship from the Professional Photographers of Southern Africa, Fellowship from the Tom Hopkinson School of Journalism and Cultural Studies, University of Wales (Cardiff) (1997); and Order for Meritorious Service Class II from President Mandela (1999).
