I haven't really watched The Simpsons in years, but I used to enjoy it a lot, and I'm a huge fan of Futurama, so I found this comic crossover story difficult to resist. And I'm glad I didn't! Writer Ian Boothby cleverly turns the awkward fact that The Simpsons is fictional in Futurama's universe (and vice versa) from a potential problem into a storytelling asset, and the plot is full of wacky hijinks of exactly the kind you'd hope for. Watching these characters meeting each other is fun, and the humor is hilarious. I found myself laughing out loud on almost every page.
This book also features an impressive gallery of additonal artwork, some rough sketches for those interested in the making-of stuff, an extra-crossovery cardboard show more slipcover, and a bonus copy of Simpsons Comics #1 stuck into a pouch in the back cover. show less

As others have remarked, both The Simpsons and Futurama are funnier in motion than statically presented. However, the comic format allows time to explore visual details. The production on this volume is of high quality with crisp inking. Line, color, and composition seem slightly pitched toward the Simpsons style.
A good graphic novel for the first part. But the section of the pencil sketches drug on for too long. Also included a reprint of Simpson's Comics #1.
Simply epic. The crossover we've all been waiting for. And it's funny, too.
Curiosa mezcla para fans de ambas series. Me he reído mucho con las dispares situaciones que se plantean, aunque en algunos puntos flojea el guión y para el precio tan elevado que tiene sabe a poco.

Matt Groening, 1954 - Matt Groening was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He moved to Los Angeles in 1980 to start writing the comic strip "Life in Hell" for the newspaper he worked for. The strip had premiered in 1977 and appears in over 250 newspapers worldwide. Groening got his big break when the Fox television network was looking for a show more filler for "The Tracy Ullman Show." James L. Brooks had seen some of the "Life in Hell" strips and offered Groening a chance to create 30 second skits for the show. The skits were so well received that the newly titled "The Simpsons" for which Groening was now creator and executive producer of, debuted on Fox as a half hour Christmas special on December 17, 1989 and as a regular series on January 14, 1990. In 1993, Groening formed "Bongo Comics Group" which publishes "Simpsons Comics," "Itchy and Scratchy Comics," "Bartman," "Radioactive Man," "Lisa Comics" and "Krusty Comics." In 1995, he founded and published "Zongo Comics," which included "Jimbo" and "Fleener" Groening oversees all of the licensing and merchandising of the "The Simpsons." He is also a best selling author, publishing books such as "Life in Hell," "Work is Hell" and "School is Hell," based on his "Life in Hell" comic strip, and "Bart Simpson's Guide to Life" based on "The Simpsons" animation. Groening is also creator and Executive Producer of "Futurama," another animated prime time television show. (Bowker Author Biography) show less
