I enjoyed this story, and although I thought I read this series before, I didn't remember this story.
Darla jean Randall hated chewing dirt! Bridget Sommersby, DJ's coach, waited patiently for her to get back on her horse. DJ mounted & told her horse that the next round was going to be perfect. Finally Bridget said one more time just like that & you can put him away. After they were finished, both were sweating because of the heat in the late July afternoon. Bridget assured her that she's do fine at the USET camp. DJ knew she was fortunate to have started with a teacher the quality of Bridget Sommersby. When DJ got home she realized that Maria doing DJ's work could cause problems with her mom. DJ cleaned up & changed into cooler clothes, show more the went downstairs. She wrapped her brother's birthday presents while avoiding their wet dog, Queenie's, foot. Once the presents were wrapped, she towel dried the dog. When the relatives started arriving, they commented on how well Lindy, DJ's mom, looked. Now that she had gotten over the morning sickness, her pregnancy was going well. After they ate dinner, Maria brought out the cake with candles and DJ froze. show less
