The movie is very different from the book. Disney did a great job to improve on the concept of the story.

In the book, I really liked that the dogs (dachshunds) referred to humans as Legs. The couple who own the dogs are Master Legs and Supreme Legs. A sister is Relative Legs. A visiting mother and young child is Visitor Legs and Chubby Legs. The household staff are called Apron Legs and Butler Legs. At the yachting club, Sailor Legs. And my favorite, an actress who just moved into the neighborhood is Highly Insured Legs.

For deity lovers, wait till you hear about Great Dog and the Anti-Dog.
The movie is very different from this book in which the dogs talk amongst themselves. I found it slow and dry. Disappointed.
