Sci-fi action meets steamy paranormal romance in Gini Koch's Alien novels, as Katherine "Kitty" Katt faces off against aliens, conspiracies, and deadly secrets. * "Futuristic high-jinks and gripping adventure." --RT Reviews For Alien Super-Being Exterminator Katherine "Kitty" Katt, anti-alien conspiracies, threats from outer space, and a couple of killer alligators are all in a day's work. Absolutely ridiculous, but wonderfully absurd. I mean, first the fact that they made her a commander after one mission -- ridonk. Second, that she yells at them and suddenly makes herself in charge many times -- ludicrous. Third, that everyone wants to marry her -- hilarious problem to have.
True drivel, but the best kind: mindlessly entertaining drivel that isn't television. Halfway through I was like...eh, tolerable, but not enough to tempt me to check out another (very Mr. Darcy of me); finished it and immediately checked out the third book.

Where ever do I start? I can always tell when I’m really enjoying a book because I don’t have a lot of notes written down. Yes, I’m one of those readers. Well, if you could see my notes page, you would either go “What the bleep?” or laugh at how ridiculous it is that I take notes. Ok, let me make my point.

See, not a whole lot to go on. Which me brings me back to my point: Gini Koch knows how to deliver one hell of an entertaining read. And If you couldn’t tell by the title of this post, this book delivers laughs of ginormous proportions. I think I scared my cats a time or two from the abrupt show more cacophony of guffaws known as my laugh. Did I really just write that sentence? I found the humor to be better than the first book, which was hard to top, people!
There is so much happening in this book! Kitty is faced with not-so-crazy-about-her soon-to-be in-laws, which proves to be hilarious. However, Kitty doesn’t take shit from anyone, and she shuts up an entire house full of A-Cs. She commands respect and it’s one of her best qualities. She also dodges a murderous stalker and two alligators who Kitty aptly names Gigantigator and Alliflash! A couple of Kitty’s ex-boyfriends add drama to her love life, and she confronts tradition in the name of individual rights. Plus a whole lot more. Overall, I loved the outcome of all of these plotlines, as well as the addition of new characters. ACE is pretty amazing and I look forward to his role in future books.
I loved that Gini wove real-life issues into this story, such as arranged marriages and marrying someone of a different race / culture / religion. It’s hard to remember the difficulties that Jeff and Kitty face as a couple because they are so perfect for each other, but their relationship has never been easy, and it’s mainly due to outside influence. If it were up to them, I think they’d spend 90% of their time in the shower together, and 10% kicking ass and taking names.
I love Gini Koch’s “voice” as an author. Her work is an absolute joy to read, not just because she is hysterical, but because when I read her books, I feel like I’m getting to know her personally. And let me tell you, I would definitely enjoy a drink or two with this woman. It would turn into a party before happy hour was over! show less

Koch, Gini. Alien Tango. DAW, 2010. Katherine “Kitty” Katt 2.
Chick lit with sexy aliens and monstrous aliens Kitty calls “fuglies.” When the course of true love gets troubled, you worry that you will never be able to make love in a shower again. All the normal people you know turn out to be aliens. And, oh yes, men’s rooms in bus stations may be teleportation portals. Give Alien Tango three or four stars, depending on how guilty you like your pleasures.

Light-hearted, well paced and humorous. It manages to combine benevolent, super-powered aliens exiled to Earth with themes of domestic terrorism, xenophobia, interracial and interfaith dating, and the ways in which loving families can be unintentionally cruel. And it all makes sense and is fun, which is the lovely thing about this series.
There were a few scenes towards the end that I didn't care for--the scene with Chuckie at the reunion seemed unnecessary and the scene with Reid was unexpectedly gross. Fortunately, neither lasted very long.
Overall, though, I really enjoyed reading this and am looking forward to the next one.

I have to start out with, I HEART KITTY. She is a kick-ass women and any of these alien hotties would be lucky to have her...it just so happens that Martini is that lucky. Not that he isn't cool as well but I have a thing for sulky Christopher. *sigh* I also have to say that this book didn't hold me in it's thrall like the first in this series, that is not to say that it is not a great story just that I wasn't glued to the pages of the book like I was the first one.
I love the fierceness that Kitty has in this book. She is way more in command (not that she wasn't in the last). I love how the action starts almost automatically and I love the fact that there are so STEAMY sensual scenes smattered through out the book. Can't go wrong with show more hot sex during a sci-fi book. I enjoy the wit that Ms. Koch instills in her work, it makes me laugh, it makes me think, and it makes me smile as I read. Those are all A s for me.
There is one character we meet toward the end, that we have heard so much about but had yet to meet. I heart him and I am glad we got to meet him. That is all I have to say there. I enjoyed this book and look forward to many more wonderful stories from Ms. Koch. show less

Alien Tango was jam packed with storylines, but not to the point where it was overwhelming or confusing. We've still got Jeff and Kitty's romance going on, we've got a threat to the A-Cs on Earth, we've got a stalker situation, we've got dirty politicians, and let's round it all off with several people competing for Kitty's attention and affection! Everything is so fast paced, there is never a dull or boring moment in this book. And OH, lest I forget, a High School reunion too??? Of course, if you've read the first book I can't imagine not having moved on to the second, but if you're putting it off for whatever reason??? Stop! I can't wait to get started on book 3.
I really enjoyed this book, however, there were two main sticking points.
1 - I find it annoying that Kitty is the only one able to come up with ideas, think outside the box, and figure things out. For a super smart race, they seem to have issues thinking on their own.
2 - Jeff's jealousy is no longer flattering. The fact that Kitty has to constantly soothe Jeff's fragile ego is annoying. How many times does Kitty have to apologize?
