A short, more-picture-book-than-chapter book about a sort-of magical boy who flies into town on a swan and tells another boy who befriends him all sorts of tall tales about dragons and warlords and giants. It's cute and the illustrations are pretty great.

I'm reviewing a lot of children's lit that I read when I was little, and I really like it! I don't read a lot of children's or young adult books now, so it's really cool to see these types of books pop up in my recommendations every once and a while.

I read this book when I was sleeping over at a friend's house. Even as a child, I didn't really sleep very well, so I invariably woke up in the early morning, and, bored out of my mind, snuck off into another room for something to do.

And I found this book! This book is a collection of the Tashi novels, and I read it all the way through before my friends woke up. I found it an easy, seamless read. I was possibly a little bit too old for it, but I really enjoyed the illustrations - they added a lot of texture to the story. I liked Tashi, I liked his character - I really liked the world-building, and I loved the myriad of fantastical creatures.

I would recommend this collection of stories to lots of people. ( Especially little girls who need something to do at 4:00 in the morning. c: )
