very interesting since it provides an alternative ending to what could have happened to sherlock holmes. It challenges the entire persona of sherlock holmes by attacking the doyle's creation of holmes and would definitely have needed a lot of research and confidence to come up with such a concept.

Excellent read. Highly recommended.

An entertaining historical mystery involving upper class recreational thugs...called bloods...and amateur murder investigator Benjamin Franklin. An excellent plot, good use of history, lots of fun. The author has a great handle on his material. I was not disappointed.

Benjamin Franklin tackles a murder plot in the English resort town of Bath with his young son, Nick Hardy. The plot somehow involves a naïve young woman who needs Franklin's help. A good mystery, an engaging celebrity sleuth whom I have always admired, a lot of fun for the reader. Nice view of 1758 grassroots living in England. Altogether, a fine read.
