I love books with a disaster and survival theme. I did not realize this was Christian fiction at first, but it became apparent pretty quickly. I will say the main character was not very believable as a mother with a young child that decides to stick it out on the water during a flood. And she was in a relationship with her boss for ease and comfort. It's pretty hard to invest in a character that is just not someone you would hang with in real life. So, we have people riding it out on a floating housing complex in a flood, and all the drama that entails. It stalls in parts, and it could have been so much more with that kind of a storyline, but it just loses its steam and is sometimes confusing. I still give it a 3 as it is a cool concept.… (more)

As a result, it took me a very long time before I started to care about the characters and what happened to them. This is partly why it only got a 3 (average) rating from me.… (more)
