“ ‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams."- Acts 2: 17

No Room For Small Dreams by Shimon Peres taught me that dreams are goals with a deadline. He had a dream and he accomplished his dream.

Quote:

From my earliest youth, I have known that while one is obliged to plan with care the stages of one's journey, one is entitled to dream, and keep dreaming, of its destination.

Plan the steps of your journey in finite detail. But also leave room before adaptive flow in reading of books and in educating yourself through articles and positive discussions with those around you. Plan what you are going to say before you say it by writing it down on a notecard and keep it with you until someone addresses you by name. The skill in being an excellent conversationalist is to not talk at all. But to keenly listen and pay attention to what is going on around you. So many do not listen and they want to talk to let their stories or their ideas be heard. When what they really are saying is of no importance to you and only bolsters their own individual ideas or their own viewpoint.

By this quote Shimon is saying that if you plan your journey your journey will go by your plan and you will have a glorious life full of blessings and joy and love and peace. Those who do not plan live in regret. Those who do not plan live in the past. Those who do not plan live in sadness. Those who do not plan live with anger and old rage. Those who do not plan live with misplaced feelings and emotions that can make them drive away those that love them and then they turn around and push away the one person closest to them that is left. Do not do that. Shimon is saying deal with your emotions in a manner that is agreeable and you will be at peace.

Live a life worthy of love. Live a life full of peace. Live a life of joy. Live a life of happiness. We get maybe one or two chances at achieving a satisfactory journey in life so we have to plan the work and work the plan or else leave it up to the hand of God. And not say that it is thus and thus way because God made it so. We are not the mind reader of God. God leads us. We do not lead God.

Peres offers a long-awaited examination of the crucial turning points in Israeli history through the prism of having been a decision maker and eyewitness.
