Ladybug Girl at the Beach by David Soman

Great for K-1. Second-graders did not really like it. The character is a preschooler. The second-graders could not relate. There is a very nice youtube read-aloud (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnY0QoTGnK0) which also includes inspirational comments about overcoming fear.

Ladybug Girl by David Soman

This book encourages imagination and adventure in young girls.
It reminds students that you can be creative on your own, you don't need a big family or a bunch of friends to have a good day. This story is great for younger students who enjoy being creative and using their imagination.
