One of the highlights of "The Art of the Qur’an: Treasures from the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts" exhibit at the Sackler Gallery (Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.). Looking down from an upper level, visitors can bee seen taking pictures of pages from a huge manuscript Qur'an. This incredible manuscript was made over 600 years ago for the Emperor Tamerlane (also known as Timur). The manuscript was displayed in an open area surrounded by a staircase and can be viewed from upper levels.
