- Began reading obsessively with 19th century Russian literature, from there moved on to French and English. I've given up on becoming truly well read in contemporary lit but keep trying. The occasional thriller or mystery keeps things lively. And non-fiction is good too--I favor progressive themes.

- I'm a writer who specializes in fiction but has published in several other genres. In 2013 I gave up on ever being discovered by Knopf and began publishing my own work with a novel coming out in early March 2014. I love the old-time classics but try to read widely.
