I did enjoy the 'big ideas' parts of the novel, and found myself very much in sympathy with a lot of Pullman's ideas. I like books that make me think too. I understand the hype surrounding the trilogy - and all of the people that love it so much. I just can't seem to join them - have you ever had a character that you knew you should like...and if it were anyone else, you would, but... That's Lyra for me.
Anyway, sorry to leave you a novel. I love talking about books I've read, and I love hearing from people. So thanks!
