About meGeorge Washington Mordecai (1801 - 1871), founder of the Raleigh branch of the Mordecai family, president of the Raleigh and Weldon Railroad, and the Bank of North Carolina as well as several other early Raleigh businesses.

About my libraryAll of these books are currently housed in the family home in Raleigh. They were cataloged by the Mordecai Square Historic Society (now Capital Area Preservation, Inc.) when they were acquired in the 1970's.
