About meI love books. I've been a voracious reader since I was a small child. In fact, I don't actually remember ever learning how to read, I've just always done it.
Books are sacred. It is through books that ideas are passed on, knowledge is perpetuated, and culture is preserved for future generations. I don't think I've ever thrown a book away in my life and I rarely give away any in my collection. Some I've lost when people ask to borrow one, because I'm too generous and I almost always say yes. Sometimes they don't give the book back. With these people, however, I feel that perhaps they needed it more than I did.
I majored in Early Medieval History in college, with a focus on the evolution of monasticism in the Roman Catholic Church. But I find most history fascinating and recently I've been interested in ancient history and various archaeological discoveries.
About my libraryMy library is extensive and I've read just about everything in it, many more than once. The few exceptions are some books that I've recently purchased or been given.
I like a variety of genre's, although most of my fiction falls into the areas of sci-fi/fantasy, romance, & suspense/thriller. In non-fiction, the majority of my books are in the subjects of history and crafting.
