About meI love books. I hate "about me" boxes

About my libraryI really love books (and bookstores, and libraries) and so I have far far too many. I read constantly when I am not overwhelmed by school (I'm a 2nd year medical student). Still, my library has a lot of books that fall in the "To Be Read" Category... but I think that I like it that way.

As for collections: The "Read But Not Owned" is not at all comprehensive, just books that I have read recently but don't own, mostly from the library. I am making no attempt to go back in time, only to add books going forward. "Andrew's books" are books that my fiancee contributed to our collective library, only a small number of which I have read, but since they are currently merged in a giant wall of alpha-by-author, it seemed like I should add them to the list. I haven't decided what to do with the "Wish List" and "To Read" categories, so they should be considered partial and possibly not updated until further notice.

I try to write reviews and keep an accurate list of what I've been reading on my book blog http://www.bookwormingit.blogspot.com but i make no promises.

Good Morning,

NTI Upstream wants to let you know that your author signed Advanced Readers Copy of Coppola: A Pediatric Surgeon in Iraq (for your participation in the LibraryThing Early Reviewers program) has been shipped and should arrive shortly.

Bestselling author (Final Exam: A Surgeon's Reflections on Mortality) and NY Times columnist Pauline Chen praises the work as “powerful, thought-provoking, and unforgettable…” In Chen’s words, after reading Coppola: A Pediatric Surgeon in Iraq, “You will never again look at the Iraq war—or any war for that matter—in quite the same way.”

We hope you enjoy Coppola: A Pediatric Surgeon in Iraq and look forward to your comments. For further information, please visit the official website http://www.coppolathebook.com

Thank you,

NTI Upstream
I was skimming through your library and you give a lot of three or three-and-a-half stars. There were a sprinkling or fours and a handful of fives (and a limited number of lower stars) but most of the stuff is mediocre. I think that you're afraid to be really opinionated about your books, so you do the polite but mundane "it was good, but not great" rating. I want to see a lot more ones up there! Spread it out and balance things a little more. The ratings don't mean anything if almost everything is average. Besides, what are the chances that the author is going to read your review, realize that you are absolutely correct about his horrible writing, spiral into depression, butcher his children, throw his wife in front of a train, then walk into a police station guns a-blazin' until someone puts him out of his misery? If that happens more than three times I'll buy you a coke.

I just read your review of "Time-Traveler's Wife" and had to tell you, not only do I completely agree with everything you said, I couldn't possibly have put it so eloquently myself. Wasn't it the most amazing book?
