About meI am a continuation high school teacher at an accredited continuation high school. I read fantasy and science fiction as an escape. I also read history, science and books on old Hollywood when the aspects of those subjects hold an interest. I should mention that I teach economics, government, history, earth science, life science and film at our school. So reading materials are my relaxation so I tend to read away from my subjects but as stated above the subjects I choose often tie into my course work.

About my libraryI have a lots of books that are unread in my home. I tend now a days to trade off my books as I read them. I have a bad habit of reading many books at one time. Majority of the unread books are fantasy and science fiction with a nod towards pulp style heroes and their descendents like the Destroyer etc. Along with those are a couple of hundred books concerning Hollywood and some film making most of these are for references but I hope to read them before I die.

Hi Matthew - I noticed we both won the Dhammapada book and that we are near neighbors. (I'm in Folsom.)I used to work in Yolo County on the Sister Friend program for pregnant teens and have also done a little work in continuation high schools. I saw that you teach economics in a continuation school and wondered if you have seen the graphic economics book [Economix] by [[Michael Goodwin]]. It might be something your students would read. Several of us on the Club Read 2013 thread found it interesting and helpful. The thought of studying economics makes my head hurt and I loved this book. I got it from Sacramento Public Library. If you get a chance to take a look, I'd like to hear what you think.
