Just a thought:

I think it would be really nice/convenient/whatever if the button "add to your library" would do exactly that: add the book to your library, instead of sending you to the "add books" page.

Not that I'm saying this is a bad idea, but it has been requested that this button function differently before. The concept, if I understood past conversation, was that it wanted the user to make sure they had the right edition of their work before adding it to their library, rather than just adding the generic book that you'd found from someone else's library.

Ennas,

Are you using Firefox? Good.

Have you installed GreaseMonkey? Good.

Try the script described on the Hacking LibraryThing Talk group:

Originally, it did. You clicked the button and whatever was on the work page you were looking at got into your library. But Tim looked at the data and there was an awful lot of garbage getting spread around that way - places where people had, for instance, added the same book 3-4 times and then edited the title to make it the different books in a series, but the ISBN and publisher info and all the rest were the same. Or Wuthering Heights by Mark Twain sort of stuff. So now it just takes you to the Add Books page...and that taking could be done a lot better (if it _has_ an ISBN, put that in instead of title! Or at least search on title, author), but at least the bad data within LT doesn't propagate.

There have been a lot of requests for Add Books to work the old way again, with various safeguards. None of them have happened yet, but yeah, it would be nice. And brightcopy's Greasemonkey script is excellent - it does bypass many of the problems (the ones that come from the Add Books being on the work page instead of the book page - LT doesn't know exactly what to add). The script just automates the simplest workaround - open a manual add page in one tab and the book page in another and copy-and-paste what you will.

Maybe once we have a "ratty data" flag, the green plus functionality can be restored....

Automatical ratty-flagging of every book added that way?
