Hi. I’m looking for a classic British book about a girl that gets abducted on the road for ransom by pirates then falls in love with someone on the ship.
It’s by a lesser know classic British writer who usually wrote books where the guy’s usually secretly rich but disguised as poor or the “everyday” man and travels around the British countryside. I read them as a teen but they aren’t YA. One of his other books had moon in the title and I know there was one about a gentleman boxer. Usually the villagers have very distinct dialects. Romance/adventure type books.

I just remembered that I believe but not positive that the author’s first name is Geoffrey. And maybe the last name starts with an F?
